Attahiru Bala Usman is an Environmental Specialist and Managing Director of Allott (Nigeria) Limited, a leading Nigerian Technical Consultancy firm (www.allottnigeria.com). He has over 17 years experience in Environmental Management from both the public and private sector.He worked as a Water Analyst for Nigerian Ports Authority Tin Can Island ports 1992-1996. He gained an Msc in applied hydrobiology in the University of Wales UK in 1997 and since then has been involved in Environmental Consultancy. He has co-ordinated several major environmental Impact Assessment studies for transport Infrastructure in Nigeria. These include the ESIA for the dualisation of the East-West Road (Warri-Mbiama-Port Harcourt-Eket-Oron), the EIA Nasarawa World Bank Community Based Infrastructure Development Project, the EIAs of Ibeto Cement Terminal, Port Harcourt and the Atlas Cement Terminal Onne Port Harcourt. He is currently the Project Director for the EIA of the proposed Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Expansion of the Lagos-Ibadan Dual Carriageway in Lagos-Oyo and Ogun States Nigeria and the EIA for the Extension of East-West Road Project Section V (Oron-Calabar).
